Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix Hosts Free Weekend of Fun July 4th

“Everybody’s gone surfin’, surfin’ USA…” Join in on a weekend of fun as Valley residents beat the summer heat on Independence weekend with Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix (www.wetnwildphoenix.com), the state’s largest waterpark. A free Dive ‘n’ Movie, Fireworks show and Beach Boys Tribute Band is included with admission, plus guests can purchase tickets for a delicious BBQ feast for Sunday, July 3. Located in North Phoenix, near I-17, on Pinnacle Peak Road, the water park opens daily at 10 a.m.

Friday night guests can watch Hotel Transylvania 2 while floating in Monsoon Bay Wave Pool. Then on Saturday, Beach Boys Tribute Band, The Southwest Surfers, will perform from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Monsoon Bay. Sunday the celebration continues with a free Fireworks extravaganza beginning at 8:45 p.m. Before the fireworks, don’t miss out on a tasty all-you-can-eat BBQ feast, from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. A limited number of meal tickets will also be available for pre-purchase online and at the park July 4. Save big with a season pass or when you purchase your daily admission tickets online before your visit.

Also, on July 2, 3 and 4, veterans, members of the active U.S. military and first responders (active duty police, fire and EMT) can enjoy a day of fun at Arizona’s largest water park for FREE. Up to six immediate family members may also receive half off admission -$21.50 plus tax – during this special weekend.

Glendale Summer Band Celebrates Its 50th Season of Music in Downtown Glendale
Glendale’s favorite summer tradition is back for its 50th season beginning June 2 in downtown Glendale. The eight-week concert series takes place each Thursday at 8 p.m. through July 21, in the Murphy Park Amphitheatre, located at 58th and Glenn drives.

The 50th Anniversary Celebration Concert is scheduled for Thursday, June 23, in which the community will be invited for a special performance and a ceremony that will include dignitaries, former band members and special guests, as well as the debut of an original piece of music composed for the Glendale Community Band.

The Glendale Summer Band is the longest-running community band in Arizona. The ages of the volunteer band members span several generations. Formed back in 1966, the band originally played at O’Neil Park, before moving to Murphy Park when the amphitheatre was built. Music lovers of all ages will be entertained by approximately 100 musicians with their inspiring renditions of marches, polkas, movie medleys and other tunes. These free concerts are the perfect night out for the entire family, or bring your friends, neighbors and the whole gang! Bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase at the concerts, which will go on through July 21. The series will feature a special Patriotic performance on Thursday, June 30 in celebration of Independence Day, as well as other themes each week. | Promo video

Teddy Bears Make the World a Happier Place! Join us as we celebrate National Teddy Bear Day.
